Create a Fairy Altar

Hello magical friend,

Have you created a Fairy altar? As a special Beltane bonus I’m sharing the first chapter from my Fairy Whispering book, to give you some ideas of how to create your own. You can also use this for Samhain depending on where you are in the world.

A fairy altar is a sacred space for fairy‐focus. Create a fairy altar as a special place for your fairy work and play.

Find a space, either indoors or outside, that can be used for the sole purpose of your fairy work. Gather items that represent your desire to connect with the fairies: These could consist of figurines, crystals, rocks, rose petals or petals from other flowers, small plants, incense, feathers, acorns… anything that reminds you of, and makes you feel more connected with, the fairies.

Your fairy altar is personal to you and should contain items that are meaningful to you on your fairy journey. Be creative and remember: There are no rules when it comes to setting up your altar. Think outside the box when adding items to this sacred space. Consider including fairy‐inspired artwork, or favourite cards from fairy oracle or tarot decks (see page 32 – or previous newsletter where I shared this chapter), as they are perfect for personalizing your space of fairy‐focus.

You may also wish to include items of sentimental value, and perhaps a sprinkling of fairy dust (biodegradable glitter). A small gong, bells, tuning chimes (or wind chimes for an outdoor altar) also make magical additions to a sacred altar space. A personalized fairy sigil is also a wonderful item to add (see page 112).

Each time you use your altar, it charges the energy of the space. Adding meaningful items – as well as meditating, saying affirmations and incantations, and performing your fairy rituals and spells in this space – will build this energy in a cumulative way.

The beautiful thing about creating a fairy altar is that there are no rules, simply follow your heart and allow your intuition to lead the way. Be creative and change your altar as often as you wish. Hello magical friend,

How are you? It’s certainly starting to feel like spring in sunny Cornwall right now! What’s it like where you are?

I can feel the fairy activity as flowers bloom and trees blossom, it’s all very magical.

I was invited to attend a magical meeting in London with Hay House, to chat about my next project, and now I’m feeling even more excited! It’s not too much longer before I share the exciting news! Your Oracle Card Reading

PURE INTENTION

The Fairy of Manifestation will help you to use your wishes wisely. Manifest your heart’s desire with pure intention and for the highest good of all.

The fairies are usually very happy and willing to help us manifest our wishes, as long as these are both from our heart and not for selfish reasons. It’s alsoimportant that your wishes don’t impose on the free will of others, and that your wishes are for the highest good of all concerned – including the fairies!

This means tuning in to your inner wisdom. If it feels right, you can also call on the Fairy of Manifestation to supercharge your wish.

Here’s a wonderful wishing technique using dandelion seed heads, which are full of wishes just waiting to be carried into the air, fuelled by your wise and wishful intent. Hold one of the fluffy seed heads to your heart and visualize your wish. Imagine that your wish has already come true, including your thoughts, feelings and emotions when the wish has been fulfilled. Then take a deep breath, fuelled by your wish, and blow the seeds into the air. Know the wish seeds will be collected and protected by a sylph wish‐guardian, one of many tiny fairies who dwell in the air. The sylph will take your wish to the Queen of the Sylphs and ask her to manifest it for you. It’s important to give thanks to the sylphs once you’ve blown your wishes away. The beauty of making wishes in this way is that you’re also helping the plant to spread its seeds far and wide. When you help nature, you automatically assist the fairies too, so this is a wise way to create a win‐win situation for them and you!

Connect with the Fae This May Day (Beltane)

Hello magical friend,

I can really feel a shift in the energies, can you?  There’s an extra spring in my fairy-step, and I’m feeling super-excited and positive about this year and beyond! As we draw closer to the 1st day of the merry month of May, also known as Beltane (there are different ways to spell this). I can feel the fairies becoming more active, as nature really starts to flourish. Yes! I do adore this time of the year, perhaps it’s because I’m a May baby! Born at this magical time of year, and I must admit I feel very much at home (on all levels) during this season.

I’m also sharing the chapter on Oracle and Tarot Cards from my Fairy Whispering book

Fairy oracle and tarot cards are a simple way to connect with fairies. Metaphorically speaking, receiving guidance in a reading is a bit like jump‐starting your car! By this I mean that a reading can lift you out of spiritual stagnation and provide a much‐needed energetic turbo‐start.

There are several oracle and tarot card decks you can choose from, including my own, Oracle of the Fairies and Manifesting with the Fairies. Both decks were inspired by the fairies and share ways to connect and manifest with them.

Take your chosen deck and sit in front of your fairy altar (see page 15) or somewhere else that is quiet and where you feel comfortable. Close your eyes and start to shuffle the cards.

Allow your intuition to guide you and, when you feel ready, stop shuffling and place the deck face down in front of you.

Express your desire to connect and manifest with the fairies by saying:

Fairies, join me as I glimpse into the future, with your guidance and love. Show me what I need to see, that will help myself and humanity.

Turn over the top card and read the message, either written on the card or in the guidebook accompanying the deck. Notice what feelings arise in you when you see the words, as these can be very telling and could uncover deeper insights. If it feels right, follow the guidance given on the card or in the guidebook. Let this be your fairy communication guidance step one.

The more you work with oracle or tarot cards, the more freely the messages will flow. Sometimes the cards jump or fly from the deck! If you watch my daily oracle card readings on social media, you will have seen that this often happens to me. I love it as it lets me know that the fairies are near and joining in the fun.

It is often said that there is no power in oracle and tarot cards, and that the power comes from our own natural intuition and psychic abilities. However, I can feel the fairy energy in my decks, so to me it feels like a very powerful and magical partnership!

Remember to keep a note of the cards that come out in your fairy journal. This is a great way to monitor your progress.

Your Oracle Card Reading

INSPIRATION

The fairy of inspiration is flying by today 🧚🏻‍♀️ Are you feeling inspired?
Be prepared, as you’ll soon receive a visit from the Fairy of Inspiration. Come dusk or dawn, she can call at any time.

The Fairy of Inspiration is full of ideas and will gladly share them with you. All you need to do is be receptive to her whisperings. She may plant the most fantastical ideas in your head, but remember you always have a choice, so if an idea doesn’t resonate for you, then simply let it go; it may be meant for someone else. When an idea does
resonate, however, go with the fairy‐flow and trust where it may lead. Sit back and enjoy the fairy‐ride of fun and creativity as you transform inspirational ideas into reality.

Perhaps it’s time to plant your own seeds – your own ideas. Take a tip from this card’s helpful fairy and plant your seeds of inspiration in fertile soil, allowing them to grow using positivity combined with practical action.

Call on this friendly fairy whenever you feel you’re lacking inspiration. To connect with her, go outside and just ‘be’ in nature; or, if you’re unable to get out, meditate on a photo of nature in a magazine or online. Allow your senses to perceive the beauty all around, and set your intention to allow the inspiration to flow.

The Fairy of Inspiration is the sister of the Fairy of Manifestation, so if this card appears in a spread with the ‘Manifestation’ card then magic and miracles will be close behind. The Fairy of Inspiration will also encourage you to inspire those around you.
